Sweet Egg Halwa




Ingredients:
  • Eggs – 8
  • White sugar – 2 cups
  • Butter or ghee – ½ cup
  • Cardamom – 4
  • Saffron – ¼ tsp2 tbs
  • Almonds (chopped) -3 tbs

Preparation:
  1. Beat the egg whites and yolks separately until they are smooth and fluffy.
  2. Mix the sugar, egg whites and yolks.
  3. Now mix the butter with the egg mixture.
  4. Put the mixture on a shallow pan on medium heat. Stir the batter continuously with a wooden spoon or they will get burnt on the bottom.
  5. Add the cardamom and saffron and stir well.
  6. Slowly the mixture will get thick but don’t let them become chunks.
  7. Pour them on a greased plate or baking pan. Sprinkle the chopped almonds on top.
  8. Let it dry for 15-20 minutes.
  9. Now cut them into squares with a knife. Enjoy!
