Plain Cake



Ingredients:

  • Eggs – 4
  • Butter (melted) – 1 cup
  • White sugar – 1 up
  • Flour – 1 cup
  • Vanilla essence – ½ tsp
  • Baking powder - 1 tsp

Preparation:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a large bowl, combine the flour and the baking powder and mix them well.
  2. Beat the butter and sugar until they become all blended.
  3. Now beat in the eggs, one at a time.
  4. Beat the mixture until it becomes fluffy and smooth.
  5. Stir in the vanilla and again beat for 5 more minutes.
  6. Now add flour, a little at a time. Gently fold them to the egg mixture with a wooden spoon.
  7. Take a baking pan (7.6 IN×7.6 IN or 19.3 cm ×19.3 cm) and grease it or line the bottoms with parchment paper.
  8. Pour the cake batter into the pan evenly and bake them for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
  9. Serve with your afternoon tea!
