Chicken in desi style



Ingredients:

  • Boneless chicken: 1 lb or 4 cups (cut into small cubes)
  • Chopped onion- 1 cup
  • Ginger paste- 2 tsp
  • Garlic paste- 2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder- 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Bay leaf- 1-2
  • Oil- 1/4 -1/2 cup

Direction:

  1. Wash  the chicken well and cut into small cubes. 
  2. Take a pan and heat the oil. Put the onions and bay leaf and stir for 10 minutes or until the onions become golden. 
  3. Now put the ginger and garlic paste and stir. Add little water so it does not get burnt. Add the chilli, turmeric and coriander powder. Stir them all for 5 minutes by adding little water at a time. 
  4. When the oil evaporates in the gravy, add the chicken and stir for another 2 minutes. 
  5. Now, add 1/2 cup of water (or more if needed) and cover it with the lid in medium flame. After 20 minutes or when the chicken is tender, increase the flame and stir for another 2-3 minutes. 
  6. Serve with rice :)
